How Protestant Church of Christ Marriage Resembles a “Snow-Covered Dung Heap”

Brutal words, I agree, but Martin Luther (a “father” of Protestantism, and therefore a “grandfather” of Restorationism) has influenced the CofC more than it realizes.
The CofC’s understanding of lust, Marriage (capitalized as a sacrament), and sex resemble the world’s desire for recreation more than the sacrament’s original purpose. Holy living isn’t possible in the CofC; its marriages are attempts to Christianize unconquerable lust.
This conclusion of my larger essay explains how Luther’s imagery of a “snow-covered dung heap” is the foundational assumption that undergirds the CofC’s misunderstanding of the purpose of Marriage. (For more context consider reading the full text).
